8 Cows Gallery

8 Cows Gallery is in the picturesque village of Allihies. The name comes from the initial use of the building, an old stone shed, milking parlour for 8 cows.

When the outside old stone walls have been left untouched with wild grasses and lichens growing in freely, the inside opens to a vibrant contrast of lightness and creative space.

The aim is to exhibit contemporary art in a remote rural area of Ireland, and it happens to be the furthest art gallery from Dublin!
